A Half-Day Plan: Sky Capsule, Cheongsapo and Haeundae
How to fit the ride, the village, the coast walk and the beach into one easy afternoon in Busan.

The natural way to build the afternoon is around the line itself, starting at the Mipo end beside Haeundae Beach. Haeundae is Busan's most famous beach and an easy base — metro-connected, full of cafés and restaurants — so begin with a walk on the sand or a coffee overlooking it, then head to the Mipo Sky Capsule station a short walk or taxi away. Aim to have your capsule slot booked for later in the afternoon so the timing carries you toward sunset.
Ride the capsule to Cheongsapo
From Mipo, ride the Sky Capsule one-way to Cheongsapo — about thirty minutes gliding over the sea. If the view is your priority, this Mipo-to-Cheongsapo direction is the sea-side track; if you've built the day around sunset, you might instead ride out by Beach Train and take the capsule back into the sun. Either way, the capsule leg is the centrepiece, so let the rest of the plan flex around the slot you managed to book.
Explore Cheongsapo
At Cheongsapo, give yourself an hour or so: photograph the red and white lighthouses, walk out onto the Daritdol glass skywalk over the sea, and stop for coffee or grilled seafood by the little harbour. It's a low-key, characterful counterpoint to Haeundae, and the part of the outing people most often say they wish they'd allowed more time for. Don't rush straight back.
Walk or train back
For the return, choose your energy: the 2.3-kilometre coastal path back to Mipo is a lovely 30-minute walk at ground level along the shore you just glided over; the Beach Train covers the same route and carries on to Songjeong Beach if you fancy a second, quieter stretch of sand; or a second capsule sends you back over the sea into the light. Any of them closes the loop nicely — and if you timed it for dusk, you'll finish the afternoon with the coast glowing.
What to book, what to wing
The only thing you really need to lock in ahead is the Sky Capsule slot and direction — everything else can be decided on the day. The Beach Train is walk-up-friendly, Cheongsapo and the skywalk need no ticket, and the coast walk is free. So book the capsule early for the time and direction you want, keep the rest loose, and you have a half-day that flexes around Busan's prettiest half-hour.
